A little bit about me...

Hey there! I'm Kaitlyn Red Wing. I'm a graduating senior at Grand Valley State University—I graduate in December of 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts in Writing & Public Relations/Advertising—who is passionate about storytelling within public relations through the use of visuals and language. I enjoy work and thrive in fast-paced environments while working with others to achieve a goal.

I have always had a passion for writing, and can contribute my inescapable need to read constantly for this. I found throughout my studies that PR is the best way to use both my love for writing and communicating for good. My schooling has taught me that to be a good PR professional, I must have the ability to adapt with the times quickly and stay ambitious.

I'm incredibly tech savvy and will always opt to trying to figure out how to do something myself before asking someone else to do something on the computer, phone, etc. My love of social media and always being up-to-date on new platforms and updates makes me the perfect fit for a PR role.

Whether you find me with my nose in a book, listening to a podcast, playing the latest video game, or at the movie theater, I'm always consuming stories and looking for new ways to grow. I hope the rest of my portfolio gives you a better idea of who I am as a person, writer, leader, and as a creator, and why I would make a valuable asset to your team.

Thank you for taking the time to view my site. Feel free to contact me any time!

Appreciation of Beauty & Excellence

I find beauty in nature, art, ideas, and people every day. This trait also means I want to be better, more loving, and produces feelings of elevation.

Humor is an important part of my every day life. It also means I have a composed and cheerful view on adversity that allows me to see the light side and thereby sustain a good mood.

Perspective is distinct from intelligence but represents a high level of knowledge, the capacity to give advice and to recognize and weight multiple sides before making decisions. This is why I often find myself the "Devils' Advocate" when it comes to debates. This trait often leads me to addressing important questions about the conduct and meaning of life.

From my experience as being a manager for almost four years, I have grown as a leader. I find myself motivating my colleagues to perform at an extremely high level, fostering a climate of trust and commitment to the organization and its goals. I will also seek out, attain, and carry out leadership roles.
